We’re Ready For School…Are You!?

CMEC Families,

This is our 30th year and we are very excited you are joining us for yet another year…and WELCOME to our newest families!  You will see you have joined a wonderful community of families that have the same principles as you do. We are ONE week away and I am sure your kiddos are ready to start as much as we are anxious to see them!  The excitement in the building is contagious as the teachers are setting up their rooms, posting their staff profiles (something new for our families!), and Jamie, our new Executive Director, is adding a much-needed touch to the building.

As we are one week away, we wanted to make sure your child’s first day is as easy as simply dropping them off; no tears parents!  If you have not filled our Enrollment Packet (REQUIRED by the State) for the first day of classes next Wednesday, you will be required to fill them out as you drop off your child.  Please help us by filling it out and dropping it off prior to the 18th.

We also have two events this week we wanted to remind all parents:

August 14 (tomorrow) – Parent Orientation from 6pm-8pm

August 17 (Sunday) – Open House for All Enrolled Families from 4pm-6pm

Click here for a link to download all our 2014-2015 Dates to Remember on one page; we will update our online calendar by the first day of school!

We also sent out an important email regarding the 2014-2015 CMEC School Update last week (one of many to come this year); if you did not receive it, please email me directly as you may not be on our new mailing list.

Allyson Marty, Our New Administrative Assistant

In addition to all this excitement…we have some new staff that I will be introducing in the following weeks but I wanted to highlight the one that everyone needs to meet:  our new Administrative Assistant, Allyson Marty.  She has been with us for less than a month and I feel she already has a great handle on things.  While you will see her running around the building, helping with everyone, I wanted to give you a little insight on how she came to us and what she loves so you can ask her all about her!

Q: How did you find yourself at Columbus Montessori?
A:  Shortly after graduating from college, I found that the retail buying and merchandising world might not be for me. So, I started my track in administration. For the past two and a half years I worked as the Operations Coordinator for a marketing agency here in Columbus, and while I gained a lot of experience and met some great people, I found that I wanted to be involved with something that was more meaningful and where I could feel like I might really be helping people. I found Columbus Montessori to be that organization, and I look forward to working with and helping all the faculty and families in providing a great education for their kids.

Q: What’s your story?
A:  Aside from studying abroad in Europe and spending one quarter for an internship in NYC during college, I’ve lived my entire life in central Ohio. I was raised as a Buckeye in Granville, Ohio and became a Bobcat when I attended and graduated from Ohio University with a Degree for Retail Merchandising and Business. I now live in Clintonville and enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I love to travel. I’ve been to several European cities while studying abroad including Paris, Pamplona, Rome, Florence, Salzburg, and Munich as well as traveling with friends and family all over the continental US. A few of my favorite cities are NYC, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. In my quieter time, I like listening to music and watching TV, as well as, hiking, skiing, and shopping.

Q: What are some of your favorites?
A:       Favorite color… purple. Favorite food… chocolate. Favorite music… anything I can sing along to. My current favorite song is Latch by Disclosure ft. Sam Smith. Favorite TV show… Friends. Favorite Movie… Love Actually or Griswold’s European Vacation
