Columbus Montessori Seeks Development Administrator

Title of Position: Development Administrator     

Reports to: Executive Director

Basic Function

This position is responsible for executing two major fundraising events and finding other funding opportunities throughout the year to contribute 10% of total dollars to the annual operating budget; establishing relationships with current and alumni families as committed donors and working with marketing/communications to develop consistent messaging and communication goals as related to financial giving

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create and implement a comprehensive Columbus Montessori Development Plan
  2. Participate in budget development and goal setting for fundraising
  3. Serve as staff representative to the Board of Trustees’ Development Committee
  4. Devise a plan and manage major fundraising initiatives i.e., Annual Fund and Spring Gala.
  5. Manage development database including establishing policies and procedures related to data integrity; monitor and limit database access as needed; analyze database needs and develop long-term strategy for data entry; create custom reports as needed. Provide primary support for all staff and volunteers requesting information from the donor database
  6. Responsible for promptly and accurately entering all deposits/pledges, exporting information for Business office, processing all thank you letters, and query of all reports for donations
  7. Develop a plan to increase alumni and parental support of and involvement in Columbus Montessori and a complete program of research into and an action plan of solicitation of the school’s key prospects
  8. Attend monthly Board meetings and provide necessary documents/reports to support current development work and progress and keep the Executive Director and Development Committee informed on a weekly basis of the fund-raising activities of this office
  9. With the Marketing and Communications Administrator create a coordinated publications and printing program which will most effectively communicate with our various constituencies

10. Oversee processing of all gift income for the purpose of providing receipts and the maintaining of giving records of donors to the school

11. Develop and lead a professional and volunteer staff to carry out the activities of this office

12. Manages self and position responsibilities in a manner congruent with Columbus Montessori values, mission, policies and procedures
